Did you know that all math courses are part of the Access Textbook Program? This program allows students to purchase their digital textbooks at a reduced cost. Students will see a significant savings on course materials — up to 75 percent.

UA-PTC Mathematics Department Mission Statement

The mission of the math department is to prepare students with the mathematical knowledge and understanding necessary to accomplish educational goals by teaching, advising and consulting on any mathematically related matter.

To meet our mission, our mathematics department provides access to high-quality education that promotes student learning and enables individuals to develop to their fullest potential.

Math Tutoring

Learning Assistance Center - Provides free math tutoring services at the Main Campus, Little Rock-South and online for students who are currently enrolled in math courses.

Departmental Learning Outcomes (DLO)

Upon successful completion of the required math courses:

DLO 1: Students will demonstrate the ability to use symbolic, graphical, numerical and written representations of mathematical ideas.

DLO 2: Students will use mathematical reasoning and, when appropriate, a general problem-solving process to solve problems.

DLO 3: Students will learn mathematics through modeling real-world situations.

DLO 4: Students will use appropriate technology to enhance their mathematical thinking and understanding, solve mathematical problems, and judge the reasonableness of their results.
