The English Department at UA - Pulaski Tech enables students to increase their capabilities to communicate through writing, speaking and reading; reason logically and think independently and critically; develop a basic understanding of people, cultures and society; develop an appreciation of lifelong learning; and develop teamwork and workplace skills.
The English Department also supports the goals and objectives of the Fine Arts and Humanities Division by preparing students to think critically; act with integrity; write across the curriculum; demonstrate computer literacy, information literacy, and cultural literacy; and finally, to understand the importance for civic and community involvement.
As a result of our commitment to these objectives, the department offers a number of courses, which include the gateway courses Composition I and II, as well as a variety of literature and creative writing classes from which to choose. All courses may be applied to the degree plans for the A.A., A.S., and A.A.S. as either a requirement or an elective.
