Multi-Factor Authentication

UA - Pulaski Tech is taking extra steps to make sure you are who you say you are when you sign into your UA-PTC accounts that uses Microsoft 365 authentication (UA-PTC e-mail and Blackboard). This extra security verification is also known as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA adds a critical second layer of security when you are signing in. It does this by requiring more than one method of verifying that it is really you logging into the account.

How MFA works

MFA works by requiring both of the following verification methods to access your account:

  • Something you know (your UA-PTC username and password)
  • Something you have (a trusted device - your mobile phone)

Setup MFA

A set of visual step by step setup instructions for MFA, including additional instructions if you don’t have a smart device can be downloaded in English or in Spanish at the following: Setup Multi-Factor Authentication (ENGLISH) | Setup Multi-Factor Authentication (SPANISH)

If assistance is needed with MFA or for questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the IT Services Help Desk at (501) 812-2780 or visit in-person at the Main Campus (A Building, Room 111) Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
