Applying for Graduation

Graduation is the official completion of your program and conferral of an academic degree.

All candidates for graduation should apply for graduation at the beginning of their final semester at UA-PTC to ensure they have satisfied the graduation requirements provided below. The priority and final deadline to apply for graduation is posted on the academic calendar. Applications submitted after the deadlines may cause delay in their degree being awarded until the next graduation period.

Graduation Requirements:

  • Successful completion of all required courses within the program.
  • A minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average. Some programs require a higher GPA.
  • Successful completion of the required number of credits.
  • Students graduating from UA-PTC must complete 25% of the total credit hours required for their credential in residence at UA-PTC. For additional residency information, see Academic Catalog.
  • Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to be awarded a degree. You must change your admissions status prior to completing a graduation application
  • Transfer courses must be posted to the student's permanent record prior to the graduation date. Transfer transcripts not submitted to the Office of Admissions at least one week prior to the graduation date may delay graduation.

Understanding your Graduation Audit Results

What is a degree audit? A degree audit is a list of all degree requirements for the program of study in which you are working towards completion. When our office is completing a degree audit, we look at all of the students' records. This includes any transfer courses, approved course substitutions, previous course history and any in-progress courses. Once reviewed you will receive an email from Graduation Services letting you know the status of your audit. The audit will reflect 1 of 3 stages.

- On Track - Student is on track to complete the program of study within the current term.

- Not Eligible - Student is missing requirements needed to complete the program of study within one year.

- Roll Over - Student is missing requirements needed to complete the program of study within the current term but could complete within one year.

  • The results will be e-mailed to you via your UA-PTC student e-mail address from Graduation Services within 4-6 weeks after final grades for the term have been posted.
  • We strongly suggest meeting with your academic advisor as degree requirements vary.
  • You can check your academic progress in Workday to see if you are on track to graduate and if you are listed correctly in the right program of study.
