US Army Jazz Ambassadors to swing by UA-PTC Nov. 17

Hear “America's Big Band” live in concert as the US Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors performs a free show at UA – Pulaski Tech CHARTS Theater Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 2 p.m. at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock, Ark.

The Jazz Ambassadors, the U.S. Army's 19-piece jazz orchestra, brings the best of big band music to the world. Concerts include classic big band standards, instrumental and vocal solo features, patriotic favorites, contemporary jazz works, and original arrangements and compositions by past and present members of the Jazz Ambassadors. Its members, selected by highly competitive auditions, represent some of the finest musical talent in America. More than six decades as the military’s most traveled musicians have earned them the title, “The Musical Ambassadors of the Army.”

For over five decades, the Jazz Ambassadors have been captivating audiences worldwide with their stunning performances. In 1969, they emerged from the United States Army Field Band, a larger ensemble with a broader musical repertoire. They have performed in all 50 states and countless countries, sharing their music with diverse audiences, earning standing ovations on stages from Carnegie Hall to international jazz festivals. As cultural ambassadors for the United States Army, they foster goodwill and appreciation for “America’s classical music” around the world, and making our rich cultural heritage accessible to a wider audience. The CHARTS LIVE 2024-25 is a performing arts series that includes a diverse package of concerts and performances beginning in October and continuing through spring 2025. With the most diverse lineup yet, the new CHARTS season features family-friendly fare, modern bluegrass, classic rock, jazz and classical styles.

About CHARTS

The Center for Humanities and Arts (CHARTS) is located at UA – Pulaski Technical College’s Main Campus at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The facility has plenty of convenient, free parking. Opened in 2016, the 90,000 square-foot facility houses a 456-seat proscenium theater that provides a comfortable listening environment that is perfect for concerts, theater performances, recitals and other events. In addition, CHARTS houses the Windgate Gallery for art exhibits. The CHARTS lobby and the adjacent Performance Studio are popular rental spaces for receptions and events.
