UA-PTC Library now offers Libby digital materials
UA-PTC Ottenheimer Library now offers digital media through the Overdrive/Libby app! The campus community can now borrow ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and more for free! Libby is the newer library reading app by OverDrive, loved by millions of readers worldwide.
"You can access the UA-PTC Libraries Overdrive collection at the following Libby app link: https://libbyapp.com/library/uaptc.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this service to our students and employees,” said Director of Library Services Heather Smith. “We are just getting started building this collection and we welcome requests and suggestions for academic, inspirational, or entertaining selections to add to our collection.”
Open Access options include the entirety of all of OverDrive's Open Access collections (Duke University Press, Project Gutenberg, New York University Press, Taylor & Francis Books, and University of Michigan Press) which amounts to 30,587 titles. Additionally, the Duke Classics collection of 4,195 classic titles is available, plus 1,617 eBooks and 670 audiobooks available in the Overdrive collection. That's great news for classroom use!
With the Libby app, you can read across devices, since all your loans, notes, bookmarks, and reading progress sync across your devices. You can download ebooks and audiobooks for offline reading, or stream them to save space. Audiobooks can be played in your car through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or a Bluetooth connection. If you prefer reading on your Kindle, Libby can send your library books to your Kindle tablet.
Do you already use the Libby app with another library? You can add multiple libraries, since they will have different collections. Learn how here: https://help.libbyapp.com/en-us/6009.htm.
