Ginger Marshall establishes new Virgil Lynn Shown Automotive Technology Scholarship at UA-PTC in memory of her father
Ginger Marshall of Cabot recently established a new scholarship at the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College in memory of her father Virgil Lynn Shown. The Virgil Lynn Shown Automotive Scholarship will benefit second-semester and second-year students earning an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology or Collision Repair.
Students must apply for the scholarship during spring 2024 semester and the initial scholarship will be awarded for the fall 2024 semester.
“My father always liked to repair, trade and collect cars,” Marshall said. “I am pleased to be able to remember him in this special way and help change lives of students at UA-PTC.”
UA – Pulaski Tech prepares graduates of its transportation-related programs for rewarding careers servicing and maintaining cars, trucks, tractor-trailers and more. The Automotive Technology program is a four-semester program providing students with competencies in all eight service areas of the Automotive Service Excellence program. Graduates may enter the workforce as automotive repair technicians. The Collision Repair Technology program is designed to prepare students for the field of collision repair, including painting, frame specializing, collision estimating and surface and trim repair and replacement.
