Sophia Kohlenberger Bazzi of North Little Rock has been named UA-PTC’s 2023 Academic All-Star Scholarship recipient. The scholarship recognizes students who have achieved outstanding academic performance and who have demonstrated superior service to UA-Pulaski Technical College and the community.
She also earned the honor of being named Outstanding Business Law Student, Outstanding Microeconomics Student, and Outstanding Political Science Student during UA-PTC's Celebrating Student Milestones ceremony in spring 2023. She maintains a 4.0 grade point average while also serving as a Student Ambassador, Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa, Secretary of the Political Science and History Club, and volunteers in the local elementary schools to teach children self-defense techniques.
Recipients of the Academic All-Star Scholarship receive a $1500 scholarship for up to two semesters at UA-Pulaski Tech. Ms. Bazzi will be recognized at the Arkansas Community Colleges annual meeting in October. Winners are selected based on personal interviews, grade point average, demonstrated involvement in campus and community activities, intent to transfer to an Arkansas four-year university upon associate degree completion, and meeting other eligibility requirements.
