Jason McFadden M.Ed., was selected as the first Director of JAG & Career Coach Programs in the state of Arkansas and at UA-PTC.
McFadden has served as a STEM Success Coach within the UA-PTC STEM Success department since 2016, where he was instrumental in assisting students with advising, mentorship, workshops, college visits, and tutoring services. He also served as one of the inaugural Career Coaches in the state of Arkansas for four and a half years at McClellan High School which is now merged as part of Southwest High School. Prior to that, he spent time at both the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff as a Recruitment Coordinator. Additionally, he has experience working as a Student Life Manager for Positive Atmosphere Reaches Kids where he served students in both Little Rock and Pulaski County Special School Districts.
Dr. John Lewis, dean of admissions and financial aid, lead the search committee. “Following a tough interview process it became apparent that Mr. McFadden’s years of experience serving students from middle school through higher education made him the right person to provide strong leadership to both the Jobs for Arkansas Graduates program and the College & Career Coach Program,” Lewis said.
McFadden earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Leadership from Northcentral University. He is also a certified Gallup Strengths Coach and a Career Development Facilitator.
“I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to lead the JAG and Career Coach Programs,” McFadden Said. “I once read that, “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” As a professional in both secondary and higher education for over 15 years, I firmly believe that the ability to effectively support, collaborate with and relate to students, faculty members and other administrative colleagues helps to ensure an environment of academic and social excellence.”
