October kicks off with exciting events for students
The School of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (SoFAHSS) are hosting three student events in October at the Center for Humanities and Arts (CHARTS) on the Main Campus in North Little Rock and at the Little Rock-South Site.
Here's what's in store:
Registration Fair for current students
Date: October 5-6
Time: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: CHARTS Collaboration Center and lobby, and at the Little Rock-South concourse
SoFAHSS faculty advisors will be on hand helping current students get advised and enrolled in classes for the Spring 2022 semester.
National Coming Out Day
Date: October 11
Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Location: CHARTS lobby and at the Little Rock-South concourse
A celebration of National Gay History Month. UA-PTC Mental Health Counselor, Calvin Kirklin and SoFAHSS faculty will be providing health and wellness support and information for UA-PTC's LGBTQ+ campus community.
Artist workshops
Date: October 14
Time: 11 a.m. - noon
Location: CHARTS lobby
Starting in October and regularly once a month, one of the SoFAHSS instructors of art and/or students in the program will present a short (approximately 30 minutes) artist workshop in the CHARTS lobby for students, faculty and staff to enjoy. For October, the SoFAHSS are starting out with a printing press demonstration. Students can watch as UA-PTC Instructor of Art, Justin Bryant conducts a brief demonstration of monotype technique using the relief printing press.
