Program Disclosure
The Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The Respiratory Therapy program is designed to meet the educational and licensing requirements for respiratory therapists in Arkansas. UA-PTC graduates of the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Respiratory Therapy are eligible to apply for the Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination (TMC) offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).Graduation from an accredited program and a low threshold score awards the candidate the credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and they are able to obtain their AR state license. Candidates who exceed the upper threshold score are eligible to take the Clinical Simulation Examination (CSE). Candidates that pass both the TMC upper threshold score and the CSE exam are awarded the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
