Program Disclosure
The UA-PTC Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). Students in the paramedic program must pass the NREMT (National Registry) Exam to practice. Arkansas accepts the NREMT (National Registry) Exam as proof that the paramedic candidate has the appropriate levels of knowledge with regard to emergency medicine. All paramedic candidates are also required to pass a practical skills examination and evaluation that is part of the National Registry examination process. National Registry certification as a paramedic leads to Arkansas Licensure as a paramedic.
