October 05, 2026
Celebrate the freedom to read and join the campus community for a special Banned Books Week Read-Out in the CHARTS Theater Wednesday, Oct. 7, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at CHARTS Theater. This event invites students, faculty, and staff to take the stage and share excerpts from popular or beloved banned, censored, or challenged texts.
Participants can select from materials provided on site or bring their own chosen text. To ensure smooth scheduling, all reader selections must be approved by CHARTS faculty, and individual readings must stay under five minutes.
Sponsors: UA-PTC Ottenheimer Library, Sigma Kappa Delta, and the School of Fine Arts and Humanities
Whether taking the microphone or supporting from the audience, all are welcome to drop in and hear powerful voices from challenged literature
