Chancellor DeProw selected for NASH Executive Fellows Program

University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College Chancellor Summer DeProw has been selected as a fellow for the National Association of Higher Education Systems (NASH) Executive Fellows Program 2027 cohort.

The NASH Executive Fellows Program builds leadership capacity for current and rising public higher education executives across the nation. It is designed for individuals to better understand their leadership style and to develop skills to maximize their role in supporting student success, operational effectiveness, and community prosperity.

The appointment underscores a growing national emphasis on professional development for campus executives, particularly as public institutions navigate tight budgets, shifting enrollment trends, and complex policy landscapes. The program reinforces the idea that strategic leadership directly elevates the quality of education and support services delivered to students.

Dr. DeProw’s fellowship will run from January through December 2027. It kicks off with a virtual session before progressing to in-person intensives at the historic Wingspread Retreat in Racine, Wisconsin, in April and August. The curriculum also features one-on-one executive coaching, interactive webinars, and participation in the annual NASH Superconvening in December.

DeProw began serving as chancellor of UA-Pulaski Tech in January 2023, following her service as the institution's provost. Her extensive background in academic leadership includes serving as assistant vice chancellor for assessment and accreditation at Arkansas State University, as well as business department chair and associate professor at Williams Baptist University.

Throughout her career, DeProw has emphasized student mentorship, institutional continuous improvement, and regional economic development. She holds a doctorate in higher education from the University of Mississippi, alongside a bachelor's degree in accounting, a Master of Business Administration, and a Specialist in Community College Education degree from Arkansas State University.
