UA – Pulaski Tech announces dynamic new 2026-27 CHARTS Live Performance Series
The curtain is rising on a diverse new season of live entertainment at the Center for Humanities and Arts (CHARTS) Theater at University of Arkansas–Pulaski Technical College Main Campus. Tickets are officially on sale for the "CHARTS Live 2026–27" performing arts series, which features a robust lineup of concerts, family-friendly theatrical productions, and cultural events running from September 2026 through spring 2027.

Lightwire Theater Presents: "The Tortoise and the Hare – The Next
Generation"
Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at 7 p.m.
This visually dazzling production fast-forwards Aesop’s classic fable 10 years into the future. Now parents themselves, the famous opponents find that their children, Tortoise Junior and Lil' Hare, are exploring a modern landscape dominated by smartphones and video games. These new digital distractions create lost connections to real-life experiences, leading the kids into unexpected territory and a whole new kind of race. Old man Tortoise and Big Daddy Hare must come together despite their past differences to find and rescue their children, learning what hurdles they must overcome to make it to the final finish line. Combining poignant storytelling with a creative musical score that ranges from classical arrangements to modern pop, the production utilizes signature glow-in-the-dark technology and unique costumes. It brings a beloved ancient tale into a brilliant new light, making it a perfect theatrical experience for modern tech-savvy families and audiences of all ages.
Natural State Brass Band
Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, at 7 p.m.
As Arkansas’s premier British-style brass ensemble, this 32-member group of brass and percussion musicians blends traditional march, jazz, funk, blues, and classical genres into an energetic live stage experience. The band has been a member of the North American Brass Band Association since 2004, winning multiple section championships and even touring northern England. Under the leadership of Music Director Nevada Mills, the ensemble performs a wide variety of literature, including popular selections, jazz standards, and patriotic anthems. Their performance history spans all regions of the state, including appearances at the Arkansas Governor's School and opening for Earth, Wind and Fire. The band’s core mission is to promote the unique brass band idiom while providing an enjoyable, high-quality musical experience for local audiences. This evening at CHARTS showcases the powerful wall of sound, technical mastery, and rich traditions that make the group a staple on the Arkansas Arts Council roster.
Arkansas Music Awards
Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026, at 5 p.m.
Produced in collaboration with Dead Party Media, this annual statewide celebration recognizes artistic excellence across all musical genres and disciplines in the Natural State. The evening functions as both an awards ceremony and a mixed-genre showcase, honoring local independent artists, educators, and industry leaders who shape Arkansas's unique culture. Dead Party Media, a collective of local writers, musicians, and creatives, designed the event to shine an equal spotlight on the entire music scene. Whether celebrating homegrown hip-hop, country, rock, or electronic dance music, the event ensures that diverse talents receive an opportunity to be seen and heard by a wider public audience. Clifford the Big Red Dog: The Musical

Produced by TheaterWorksUSA, this brand-new musical comedy adventure brings the beloved giant puppy to life on stage. The story follows Emily Elizabeth and her tiny puppy, Clifford. When her enormous love causes Clifford to grow into a house-sized dog, the family must trade their cramped city apartment for a new home on Birdwell Island. Worried that his colossal clumsiness is keeping Emily Elizabeth from making friends, Clifford wishes he were small again. He enjoys a fun day as a normal-sized dog until his island friends get stuck in a dangerous place where only a giant red dog can save them. Featuring songs by Sam Tsui and Casey Breves, this 60-minute production celebrates friendship, imagination, and unconditional love. Rhinestone Cowgirls: Legendary Ladies of Country Music

Three powerhouse singers perform classic and contemporary country hits, taking listeners on an authentic journey that celebrates the evolution of the genre from its humble beginnings to the giant stars of today. The Center for Humanities and Arts (CHARTS) is located at UA–Pulaski Technical College’s Main campus at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock, Ark. The facility has plenty of convenient, free parking.
