University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College closed Monday due to threat
Due to a credible threat of violence, the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College (UA-PTC) Main Campus at 3000 W. Scenic Drive in North Little Rock is closed for the remainder of Monday, Feb 10.
Late Monday morning, a student made threats against an instructor and others before departing the campus. The threat was deemed to be credible enough to take the precaution of closing UA-PTC Main Campus in North Little Rock. The campus has been evacuated and secured. UA - Pulaski Tech public safety officers remain on site.
"The safety of our campus community is of paramount importance," said UA-PTC Chancellor Summer DeProw. "The decision to close campus is not one we take lightly. An abundance of caution is called for in a situation such as this."
The college followed all CLERY Act protocols in the process.
Law enforcement authorities are currently searching for the suspect.
Other UA-PTC locations remain open. The college's Main Campus in North Little Rock is expected to reopen for business as usual Tuesday, Feb. 11.
