UA - Pulaski Tech Celebrates New Generation of Nurses
The University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College held a Pinning Ceremony for graduates of its Practical Nursing program on Aug. 5 at the CHARTS Theater. The event is an important tradition that marks the conclusion of a student’s nursing program and their official entry into the profession as they embark on new careers in nursing.
The ceremony included remarks from students, nursing faculty, and college administration. Dr. Talayia Johnson, Dean of Allied Health, Sciences and Mathematics offered words of encouragement to the new nurses.
The pinning ceremony was conducted by Assistant Teaching Professors of Nursing Felicia Johnson and Shara Byers.

“The pinning ceremony marks the transition from student to practitioner,” said Dr. Talayia Johnson, Dean of the UA-PTC School of Sciences, Mathematics, and Allied Health. “It also serves as recognition from the nursing faculty that our students are ready to fulfill their responsibilities as nurses. It’s always a proud day for the college and for the students.”
As these newly-minted nurses step into their professional roles, they carry with them the knowledge, skills, and compassion instilled by UA-Pulaski Tech. The college extends its heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class and wishes them success in their future endeavors.
