LR-South cell phone reception gets a big boost!
UA-PTC IT Services announced last week that cellular booster services have been implemented for AT&T and T-Mobile customers at Little Rock-South. Verizon customers are already receiving cellular booster services. IT Services has been working diligently to improve cell phone service at Little Rock- South, where missed and dropped calls were a common occurrence.
“Together with weak signals from the carriers, the concrete walls and metal roof at Little Rock - South made it very heard for cell signals to get through,” said UA-PTC Chief Information Officer Wayne Floyd. “We heard complaints from the campus about the issue and through adding the booster, AT&T and T-Mobile customers should be able to use their devices without any problem.”
What is a cellular booster? Cellular boosters are high-tech devices that capture weak signals from cellular towers and amplifies the existing mobile phone signal. A cellular booster signal can speed up data uploads, downloads, improve audio quality for voice calls, help eliminate distortion or disturbance due to obstructions, and most importantly lead to fewer dropped calls.
IT Services thanks CMS Wireless for their assistance with this project. Likewise, the campus community thanks IT Services!
