Lunch and Learn event targets education professionals
UA-PTC hosted a Counselor Lunch and Learn event attended by high school counselors, career coaches, and leaders in higher education from North Little Rock to El Dorado.
The May 17 event started with a welcome by Chancellor Summer DeProw, remarks on area economics and workforce by Senator Jane English, and an update from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education by Assistant Director of Operations and Communications Alisha Lewis.
It was followed up with informational sessions by UA-PTC representatives on paying for college, leveraging the power of concurrent enrollment, UA-PTC’s high school early childhood development pilot program, the admissions application process, summer camps offered by UA-PTC, and updates by UA-PTC’s three academic deans.
The purpose of the event was to inform and engage with the community to develop working relationships that will provide services intended to educate and prepare students to enter the workforce.
