The Buttered Biscuit announces CAHMI partnership
The Buttered Biscuit, a breakfast restaurant with four award-winning locations in Northwest Arkansas and two locations coming to Little Rock in 2024, announced April 18 an ongoing partnership with the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College (UA-PTC) and a $5,000 scholarship to the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute (CAHMI).
Press conference attendees included Sam Russell, co-founder and CEO of The Buttered Biscuit, and Melissa Hendricks, vice chancellor of advancement for UA-PTC. The $5,000 scholarship will be awarded in the fall 2024 semester.
“This long-term investment in the culinary institute is about more than just nourishing talent,” said Anna Russell, co-founder of The Buttered Biscuit. “It's about shaping the futures of those with dreams just as big as mine were seven years ago. We’re excited for the opportunity to see the scholarship’s impact on students firsthand as we transition into the Little Rock market this year.”
This partnership is made possible through The Buttered Biscuit’s Project Biscuit Charitable Fund, which was created by The Buttered Biscuit to help propel underestimated individuals forward in both their professional and personal lives. The scholarship will be awarded to a culinary student who shows exceptional promise and drive, lessening the financial burden of higher education and increasing confidence in the kitchen simultaneously.
“We extend our gratitude to The Buttered Biscuit for their investment in the future of culinary arts in the state,” said Jan Lewandowski, director of CAHMI. “We look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come.”
The Buttered Biscuit will open the first of its two Little Rock locations late May or early June at the Promenade at Chenal, and is now hiring for 67 staff members. To apply for the team, visit thebutteredbiscuit.com/careers.
