H-VOLT program achievers honored at graduation event
Twelve new high voltage linemen graduated from the rigorous 17-week H-VOLT Academy program Aug.16 at a graduation ceremony held at the UA-PTC Main Campus in North Little Rock.
The H-VOLT Academy is a certified power line worker training program hosted by the UA-PTC Business and Industry Center that gives real-world, hands-on instruction and experience to aspiring electrical power line workers. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to install, repair, service, and maintain electrical power lines and supporting equipment. Students will also be equipped with the industry-specific skills for entry level employment, including an industry-recognized National Center for Construction Education and Research credential. The H-VOLT Academy program is sponsored by numerous area electrical utility companies, electrical cooperatives, and is designed to provide graduates a quality workforce.
UA-PTC administrators, program instructors, and graduates' friends and families were on hand to mark the occasion.

- Instructor Choice: Tyler Wahlin
