UAMS Head Start/Early Head Start is opening a new child care facility at the site of the former UA-PTC Little Leaners facility at 1500 Pershing Blvd. in North Little Rock.
UAMS Head Start/Early Head Start serves children ages six weeks to five years old at multiple sites throughout Pulaski County. Applications are being accepted on-site now.
UAMS Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally-funded scholarship program that provides comprehensive, quality early childhood education and support services for families experiencing economic hardships.
Eligibility is income-based. See guidelines at headstart.uams.edu/for-families/poverty-guidelines.
Head Start/Early Head Start provides a helping hand to the following families:
- English Language Learners
- Children with Special Needs
- Homeless Families
- Children in Foster Care
- Pregnant Women
- Applications accepted on location every Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
