Virtual commencement planned for May 30
UA - Pulaski Tech will host a virtual 2020 Commencement for our graduating students on Saturday, May 30 at 11 a.m.
The program will include all of the elements of a traditional commencement ceremony: our scheduled speaker, Little Rock attorney Tjuana C. Byrd; remarks from UA-PTC Chancellor Margaret Ellibee; Provost Marla Strecker; and UA System President Donald Bobbitt; and -most importantly- individual recognition of all of our graduates.
The college is working with a company, Marching Order, that specializes in online ceremonies. They will be supplied with a list of graduates and their degrees, along with their contact information. They will contact all graduates by email and request a photo and a short quote. All names will be read and recognized with an image that will include a photo, custom quote, and degree(s) conferred. There's even a process for making 100% sure that all names are pronounced correctly. When the entire ceremony is assembled and unveiled May 30, it will be hosted on a platform that can be shared with friends and family.
Regrettably, the 2020 Commencement "live" event is officially cancelled. In addition to the virtual commencement, all 2020 graduates will be invited to participate in the Spring 2021 "in-person" commencement ceremony.
