UA-PTC Foundation accepts $3,500 award from trucking industry group
October 17, 2019
The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College Foundation has been selected as a recipient of a grant from the Trucking Industry Defense Association’s (TIDA) 2019 Endowment program in the amount of $3,500.
Carole Ridgeway, TIDA Secretary on the board of directors, presented the check to Bentley Wallace, dean of technical and professional studies, and Shannon Boshears, executive director of the UA-PTC Foundation on Oct. 17 at the Transportation Technology Center at the college’s Little Rock- South site.
The goal of the endowment program is to recognize and support those institutions shaping the future of the trucking industry, and the TIDA endowment committee recognized that UA - Pulaski Tech exemplifies that vision and would benefit from this grant. The award will be used to purchase updated equipment and enhance training for Diesel Technology students.
“This is the second year that TIDA has selected the college’s diesel program for inclusion in their endowment program,” said Boshears. “With this, their largest gift to date, we are grateful for their generosity as we put the funds to good use helping students to succeed in their training.”
With a membership of more than 1,400 trucking professionals, TIDA was founded in 1993 as a national organization committed to engaging in actions and activities that reduce loss costs to the trucking industry. Members include motor carriers, transportation logistics companies, insurers of motor carriers, third party claims administrators and defense counsel.
