Due to an abundance of caution in response to the developing international health crisis related to coronavirus, or COVID-19, all University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College Community Education face-to-face classes have been cancelled until May 1.

University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College’s Community Education Program offers a variety of hands-on, non-credit Life and Leisure classes that are open to the public year around. Community Education Policies

Registration Requirements: Registration is required for all Community Education classes. To begin registration please click on the class title. To register by phone, please call Kristin Howell at (501) 907-6670 ext. 3407

Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if canceled at least 7 days before the class date. Cancellations occurring within 7 days of the class date will only receive a refund only if the class spot can be sold.

Community Education Class Enrollment Minimum Policy: In order to use teaching resources to their fullest, a Class Enrollment Minimum Policy is used to ensure that courses offered have a minimum number of enrolled students. Such a policy allows students to engage with a sufficient number of other learners in the classroom and also efficiently uses instructor time, thus facilitating the research and service portions of instructor obligations. In the event that a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, all registrants will receive a full refund.

Snakes of Arkansas

This FREE introductory program will help participants identify venomous snakes native to Arkansas from a distance, using features other than pupil and head shape. We will also discuss the ecological importance of snakes and environmental threats to reptiles and amphibians. Learning to identify snakes in Arkansas and learning their importance can she new light on this often misunderstood group of reptiles.

All ages. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Introduction to Archery

This FREE introductory course is for all archers who wish to participate in any of our youth or adult archery programs, or those who just wish to learn more about archery and begin practicing shooting with a bow. Archers shoot under the guidance of a certified instructor. This course offer participants a chance to learn about archery, archery equipment, and the various types of archery shooting. Archery is a great way to sharpen skills, build self-esteem and create a stronger atmosphere for success in the classroom!

Cost: Free
Ages: All ages. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
