Faculty development offers training about students, pedagogy,
instructional design, and instructional technologies.
Faculty participation in professional development positively impacts
classroom pedagogy, student learning, and the overall culture of teaching
and learning (Bilal and Chen, 2019; Condon, Iverson, Manduca, Rutz, and
Willett, 2016; Steinert, Mann, Anderson, Barnett, Centeno, Naismith, et
al.2016).
Faculty development enhances faculty satisfaction, effectiveness,
academic promotions and retention (Tung, Nahid, Rajan, et al. , 2021).
Significant effects were observed on students’ likelihood of passing
courses, average course grades, and likelihood of receiving fewer DFW
grades, when taught by ACUE-credentialed faculty (Association of College and
University Educators (ACUE, May 2022).
To enhance our teaching is to support student success and to positively
impact the economy in AR.
