UA-PTC Business and Industry Center welding training saves MacroSource $12,000
In December 2025, MacroSource partnered with UA – Pulaski Technical College to deliver a customized Basic Welding training program.
Instructor Thurman Daniel provided eight employees with foundational welding skills through a 24-hour course conducted over three days.
Recently, Jonathan Caldwell, Manager of MacroSource, shared with Sharon Cantrell and Heather Smith of the Business and Industry Center, as well as Bryan Day of the Port of Little Rock, the significant impact the program had on his operations. He noted that his team was recently tasked with replacing the first 20 feet of a conveyor system, a project requiring extensive welding and millwright work. Rather than outsourcing the job, his employees were able to complete the work in-house, resulting in an estimated savings of approximately $12,000 on that project alone. Mr. Caldwell expressed strong satisfaction with the immediate return on investment achieved through the three-day training provided by UA-PTC’s Business and Industry Center.
