Phi Theta Kappa Spreads Holiday Cheer
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) faculty advisors and students worked together to host a very successful stuffed animal drive and a very fun ornament decorating campus event. The ornament decorating took place on Tuesday, December 2, where students and faculty stopped by to relax and get into a flow state. Students remarked that they were happy to have gifts for family members, and others stated that “this was such a great experience!” Advisor Jonthan Purkiss-Jones remarked that he was so happy to be a part of this event, and spending time painting ornaments was very relaxing and fun. This event was sponsored by PTK because the advisors and students wanted to give the campus a special holiday memory.
Then, on December 5, Faculty Advisors, Jessica Wise, Meredith Stanton, and Jonathan Purkiss-Jones, along with President Ciarra Robinson and Vice President Sheenique Murray, delivered 90 stuffed animals to Pathfinder Preschool. The staff at the preschool were so excited and said they can’t wait to see the faces of the children when they see all the stuffed friends. Sheenique said, “It was super fun and sweet, and I loved it!” Advisor Jessica Wise said, “Stuffed animal delivery is the best day of the year” while Meredith Stanton added on, “It’s always so special to see the campus come together to give new stuffed friends to such sweet children.” The stuffed animal drive was a campus effort indeed with students, faculty, and staff all joining in to bring joy to the children at Pathfinder Preschool.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society that promotes academic excellence. Members are eligible to compete for scholarships, to participate in regional, national, and international meetings and institutes, and to attend workshops on leadership and scholarships.
