May 17 commencement sees more than 500 graduates participating
The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College held its annual commencement exercises on Saturday, May 17, at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock.
Arkansas Secretary of Commerce Hugh T. McDonald delivered the keynote address to the graduating class. In addition to extoling the value of hard work and perseverance, McDonald emphasized to the graduates the value of kindness and respect.
“Be respectful. Being nice is underrated. You can still be tough when you have to, but this world is run on relationships,” Secretary McDonald said. “Wherever you go in this world, you need friends. Wherever you go, you won't get there alone.”
This significant milestone for the UA-PTC students saw more than 500 students participating in the commencement ceremony to celebrate their achievements. 1,196 graduates received degrees or certificates in the 2024-25 academic year.
Continuing a long-standing tradition, members of the UA-Pulaski Tech Board of Visitors assisted in the awarding of diplomas to the graduates. UA System Vice President for Academic Affairs Michael Moore was also present to award diplomas.
