UA - Pulaski Tech Named a 2025-2026 Voter Friendly Campus
UA - Pulaski Tech has been named a 2025-2026 Voter Friendly Campus by Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, distinguishing it as the only Arkansas community college to receive this honor.
The designation recognizes UA-PTC’s commitment to boosting student voter engagement through planned and implemented practices. Evaluation criteria included a detailed voter engagement plan, successful 2024 implementation, and a comprehensive analysis of those efforts.
Associate Teaching Professor Samantha Staggs spearheaded the initiative, developing the voter engagement plan and submitting the final report. “I am immensely proud of what we accomplished on campus and the lasting impact this recognition will have on student engagement and voter participation. I look forward to continuing this process in the future!” Staggs said.
As part of the designation process, UA-PTC conducted various activities to inform students of their civic duty and prepare them to be engaged, informed participants in democracy. The Voter Friendly Campus initiative addresses barriers to student voting, emphasizing year-round engagement beyond federal elections. The institution is committed to refining tactics and expanding efforts through 2025 and beyond.
The designated institutions represent a wide range of two-year, four-year, public, private, rural, and urban campuses, collectively serving over four million students.
