Charles C. Owen and Carolyn D. Owen Endowed Scholarship Established for Paralegal Technology Students at UA - Pulaski Tech

August 22, 2024

The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College announces the establishment of the Charles C. Owen and Carolyn D. Owen Endowed Scholarship, a generous gift from the Gill Ragon Owen Attorneys. This $25,000 scholarship will provide financial assistance to students pursuing a degree in Paralegal Technology.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to deserving students who demonstrate financial need and a commitment to their academic pursuits. The funds can be used to cover tuition, books, and fees associated with earning a Paralegal Technology degree.

The Charles C. Owen and Carolyn D. Owen Endowed Scholarship is a testament to Owen’s commitment to education and his desire to support the next generation of paralegal professionals.

“We are incredibly grateful to Gill Ragon Owen for this generous gift,” said Vice Chancellor of Advancement Melissa Hendricks. “Charles Owen was a leader in the legal profession in Arkansas and it is significant that this scholarship is established in his name, and that of his wife Carolyn Owen, longtime administrator at the firm. This scholarship will make a significant difference in the lives of our students as it supports the legal profession in the state.”

Students who successfully complete the Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Technology program at UA-PTC with a minimum 2.0 GPA are guaranteed admission to the Bachelor of Applied Science program at UA Little Rock at the same tuition rate paid at UA-PTC. They are also guaranteed acceptance to the UA Little Rock Law School if they earn a Bachelor's degree from UA Little Rock, maintain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.40 or higher, achieve an LSAT score of 154 or higher within five years of applying to Law School.
