Weather Channel to feature H-VOLT program in new show

October 23, 2023

The Weather Channel TV show Fast: Home Rescue was filming in central Arkansas Oct. 18, capturing the recovery progress after the March 31 tornado.

When they heard about the H-VOLT Academy at UA-PTC, they had to pay a visit. The UA-PTC High Voltage Lineman Training (H-VOLT) Academy is a certified power line worker training program designed to provide quality education along with real-world, hands-on instruction to those seeking careers as electrical power line workers.

“We are excited to feature the Lineman program at UA-PTC and hype up all the incredible work y'all are doing to train the next generations of American Linemen!” the field producer, Tony Anderson said.

UA-PTC Chancellor Summer DeProw, H-VOLT Lead Instructor Brian Kelly, and an H-VOLT Academy graduate, Wes Bailey (now a line worker for Entergy Corporation) will be featured during the spring series.

The new hosts for the upcoming season, Tre Boston, former NFL safety and sports commentator, and his wife, Cierra, both tried their hand at climbing the pole. While it is much harder than it appears, Tre successfully climbed a few feet with guidance and assistance from Mr. Kelley.

Fast: Home Rescue brings new hosts to steal the hearts of viewers, while remaining true to capturing the stories of families whose lives have been devastated by severe weather and natural disasters as their homes are transformed and rebuilt stronger than before in just five days.
