"Generations" shows family's art at Windgate Gallery
"Generations," an exhibit featuring works from three generations of Arkansas artists, opens Monday, October 10 at the UA-PTC Windgate Gallery. It will remain on display through Friday, December 9.
An opening reception will be held Thursday, October 13, 6-9 p.m.
Generations features art from a local family of artists, all painters. Connie McCann is a retired art teacher who works in a highly realistic style, rendering the objects of everyday life in luscious color and fidelity. Dennis McCann emphasizes light and architecture with verisimilitude that places his pastel drawings in both the past and the present. Jason McCann is an art teacher at Central High School who works in a more expressionistic style than his parents, often painting the figure in abstracted interior spaces.
