H-VOLT program graduates honored at Aug. 18 event
Sixteen new high voltage linemen graduated from the rigorous 17-week H-VOLT Academy training course at a commencement ceremony held Aug. 18 at UA-PTC Main Campus.
H-VOLT is a certified power line worker training program hosted by the UA-PTC Business and Industry Center that gives real-world, hands-on instruction and experience to aspiring electrical power line workers. The program is sponsored by numerous area electrical utility companies and cooperatives and is designed to provide them a quality workforce. Individuals gain the knowledge and skills needed to install, repair, service, and maintain electrical power lines and supporting equipment.
UA-PTC administrators, program instructors, and graduates' friends and families were on hand to mark the occasion. One family drove to the event from Virginia!
