U.S. Department of Education awards $1.6 million dollar grant for UA-PTC students
Dr. John Lewis, UA-PTC Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, received official notification from the U.S. Department of Education that UA-PTC would receive over $1.6 million in additional grant funds under the American Rescue Plan.
“The sole purpose of applying for and receiving this funding was to provide additional emergency financial aid grants directly to students that will have a positive impact on their lives, and the community“ Lewis said.
The financial aid grants will be awarded during the Fall 2022 semester and are intended to be used by UA-PTC students for their cost of attendance (tuition, food, housing), or for emergency costs that arise due to the coronavirus, such as health care (including mental health care), or child care.
Students who are pell eligible will automatically qualify for CARES funding. Students who are not pell eligible can request reconsideration for special circumstances.
