Dr. Angela Kremers named Technical-Professional Dean
Dr. Angela Kremers will join UA-PTC as Dean of the School of Technical and Professional Studies beginning Jan. 18, 2022.
Dr. Kremers’ most recent positions were Associate Director and Director at the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Career and Technical Education, where she provided senior administrative leadership in support of the division's efforts to prepare Arkansas students for future college and career success.
Prior to her work at ADE, she was Associate Director of Global Initiatives at Arkansas State University, State Director at international nonprofit Best Buddies International, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at East Initiative, and Senior Program Associate for Education at the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. Other professional experience includes career and technical education in secondary and postsecondary settings, as well as work in healthcare.
She joins UA-PTC to provide academic administration over technical and professional programs including Business and Information Technology, Culinary Arts and Hospitality, and Technical Sciences, such as advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and welding technologies. Kremers will also provide administrative leadership for the UA-PTC Business and Industry Center, which provides customized non-credit education and training to support the state economy.
"I am looking forward to collaborating with stakeholders, faculty, staff, and students to build on the successes of the School of Technical and Professional Studies (SoTAPS) for a strong workforce education ecosystem that meets the needs of students, business and industry, and the state's economy,” Kremers said. “Business partners and state workforce agencies are critical levers to help us achieve success in preparing students for high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand careers. Working proactively together, we can build and enhance relationships and programs as a cohesive, professional, and talented SoTAPS team.

Dr. Kremers received a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis, a Master's Degree in Management at Lindenwood University, and a Doctorate in Education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Our search committee included faculty and staff from UA-PTC and a representative from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. The search committee was particularly impressed with Dr. Kremers education policy knowledge. Additionally, key leaders from the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, AEDC, Little Rock Port Authority, and local industries attended all of our candidates’ presentations and provided feedback on each candidate.
