UA-PTC/UA Little Rock agreements ease transfer path for social work students

May 30, 2017
UA-PTC students studying social work will have an easier time transferring to UALR to continue their studies with the University of Arkansas System's recently approved "2+2"agreement that allows students at UA-PTC to finish a bachelor's degree at UALR.

This is the first of UA-PTC's articulation agreements approved by the University of Arkansas System. At least 10 more articulation agreements with UA Little Rock and dozens with UCA are in the works.

For the social work path, UA-PTC students would complete an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences and then transfer to UA Little Rock.

To apply, students need to apply and submit letters of reference in the spring semester before the fall semester in which they plan to enroll. Students can apply after passing one of 3 prerequisite courses: Intro to Social Work; Intro to Sociology or Psychology and the Human Experience.

Before beginning, students must complete all three courses and have at least a 2.5 GPA in those courses and cumulatively.
