This instructional program is designed to prepare students to apply technical knowledge and skills of various types of welding and cutting processes. Students will develop correct and safe handling of welding equipment and gases used in the welding industry. Students have an opportunity to earn a Certificate of Proficiency in Welding Technology after two semesters. Students who return for a second year will be enrolled in courses that cover Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and further emphasize Shielded Metal Arc Welding and other design and techniques.

Students also are provided the opportunity to test for certification with the American Welding Society.

To receive further training, students may enroll in UA-PTC's post-secondary Welding Technology program in order to earn a Technical Certificate in Welding Technology.

  • Basic Welding I
  • Basic Welding II
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or Gas Metal Arc Welding
