UA-PTC is offering five summer tech sciences camps in the following subjects:

July 22-25
Time: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: UA-PTC North Little Rock Campus, Building A, Room 153D
Price: $175
Students will participate in learning the HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) through exciting classroom and lab exercises. Participants will take a deeper dive into an air conditioning system and see just how we combat the sweltering Arkansas summers.
Day 1: Shop Safety
Day 2: Refrigeration cycle and lab
Day 3: Electrical Basics and lab
Day 4: Troubleshooting and Brazing lab
July 29 - August 1
Time: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: UA-PTC North Little Rock Campus, Building C, Lab 108
Price: $175
Students will learn various welding techniques from an AWS (American Welding Society) licensed advanced welding instructor to complete hands-on projects that they can take home at the completion of the camp.
Day 1: Safety and Measurements
Day 2: Welding Fundamentals & Welding VR Simulations
Day 3: Hands-on Welding - Learning Proper Techniques
Day 4: Hands-on Welding - Complete Individual Projects

Students will have the opportunity to explore several computer-aided drafting softwares, 3D printing, and hear from industry professionals.
Day 1: 3D Design using Inventor
Day 2: 3D Printing & AutoCAD
Day 3: Creating house floor plans using Revit
Day 4: Industry Talks

Youth Advanced Manufacturing Camp
Time: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: UA-PTC North Little Rock Campus, Building A, Room 152A
Price: $175
Students will get an introduction into the process of how a part is made with CNC Machines, from the prints and drawing, creating tool paths, machining the part, and 3D printing the part.
Day 1: Shop safety
Day 2: Introduction to SolidWorks 3D CAD
Day 3: Introduction to MasterCAM
Day 4: CNC Machine/3D Print Parts

Time: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: UA-PTC North Little Rock Campus, Building A, Room 152C
Price: $175
Students will learn about electrical concepts and electrical components. They will also have the opportunity to build circuits and perform measurements with test equipment.
Day 1: Electrical safety, concepts, and components
Day 2: Direct Current (DC) concepts & circuits; measurement instruments
Day 3: Alternating Current (AC) concepts & circuits
Day 4: Hands-on circuit projects
