The College and Career Coach program is a partnership between Arkansas Career Education, the Little Rock School District (LRSD), and UA - Pulaski Technical College. Administered by UA - Pulaski Tech, the program currently serves students in the five LRSD high schools.

College and Career Coach Program

The College and Career Coach program is:

  • Designed to motivate and support students attending Arkansas middle and high schools achieve their goals as it relates to college and career planning.
  • Providing services in the area of academic tutoring, career counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and other supports necessary for post-secondary education/training access, retention, and success.
  • Aligned with and supports the efforts of Arkansas’ plan for education and workforce development.

The Career Coach program is focused on getting students through high school and to post-secondary education, training, or military services. Program, services, and activities through the College and Career Coach program foster the career exploration and college-going culture in schools and engage students in the following seven important parts of the process:

  • Early Awareness: Career Exploration Camps, 8th-10th grade
  • Exploration: Work-Based Learning, 10th-12th grade
  • Planning: College Planning Night and College Visits, Spring of junior year and Fall of senior year
  • Assessments: ACT Academies, Spring of junior year and Fall of senior year
  • Applying: College Application Month, October of senior year
  • Paying: FAFSA Frenzy!, October of senior year
  • Going: College Signing Day, May of senior year

Career Coaches

The College and Career Coach program also has career coaches that are located in each of the LRSD high schools that work alongside high school counselors, teachers, and administrators to support students.
