Fall 2020 semester to begin Aug. 24
Beginning August 17, the campus will be open for regular operating hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday – Friday; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays at the Main Campus. Open access to all employees, students, and the public will begin on August 17. Gate check-ins at Main and South will no longer be required beginning August 17.
Fall registration continues through August 23. Payment deadline is August 30. Fall classes start August 24 and will resume in-person. Late registration for fall will continue through August 30.
Food service will be available in the CCB Big Rock Bistro, South Finish Line Café, La Patisserie, and CAHMI. Food service will follow the following guidelines:
- Food service will be covered/wrapped “grab-and-go”.
- Tables and seating will follow social distancing and capacity requirements.
- No uncovered/unwrapped food sales will be available.
- All campus meal/food service options will follow State of Arkansas ADH restaurant requirements, including all employees (as well as CAHMI students) being masked for any food preparation and clean-up.
Meetings may be face-to-face or on-line. All in-person meetings will honor social distancing, and face coverings/masks will be worn. If an in-person, face-to-face meeting group is larger than 10, the meeting must be held in RJ Wills, Grand Hall A or B, or conference room that can safely accommodate everyone. The space must be socially distanced with attendees sitting in every other chair, row, etc.
Any CHARTS, CAHMI, South, CCB, and BIC rental of spaces, catering, performances, exhibitions, public events, will not begin until October 1. This date will be continuously monitored against the State’s most current COVID public gathering requirements and may be changed as the semester progresses. All contracts must include the COVID cancellation clause and be reviewed by the Chancellor before contract finalization.
As on-campus, in-person work begins this Fall semester, the UA-PTC administration and members of the College COVID-19 Task Force will continue to monitor and assess the transmission of COVID-19 closely.
If any increase in community spread or severity of the virus is noted on campus, in the metro, region, or State of Arkansas, campus officials may be required by the UA-Board of Trustees to modify operations in order to mitigate risks. This may result in stronger restrictions on operation hours, physical distancing, or a partial or complete return to remote working options.
Further updates will continue to be disseminated via multiple mediums, and posted at www.uaptc.edu/publichealth.
