UA-PTC Respiratory Therapy Spring Seminar set for March 16-17

Respiratory therapists and students from across the state and country will gather at UA-Pulaski Technical College for the college'15th annual spring seminar on March 16-17.

The seminar will take place 7 a.m.-4 p.m. both days in the Campus Center Grand Hall on the college's main campus, 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock.

Seminar topics include Early Mobility in Critical Care Patients, Introduction to Tracheostomy and Laryngectomy, Respiratory Care Role in Airway Management, Role of Speech-Language Pathologists with the Tracheostomy Population, Interventional Respiratory Care, Computer Assisted Tomography, Advocating for Patients with Pulmonary Disease in a Politically Charged Health Care Environment, Respiratory Care Role in Palliative Care, Encounters with Infectious Disease Patients, Care of Patients with Cystic Fibrosis, and Infection Prevention and Control.

The seminar is open to all respiratory care professionals and respiratory therapy students. Attendees receive 12 continuing education units for participation. The cost for the two-day event is $50 and includes breakfast and lunch. The seminar is free to current respiratory therapy students (proof of current student status will be required).

Seminar sponsors include Goodnight Medical, Vapotherm, Medtronic, Philips, Central Arkansas Veterans Health System, National Park College, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Cornerstone Health Group, MGC Diagnostics and UA-Pulaski Tech.
